Mobile Detailing in Tujunga: I Bring the Shop to You

No shop, no drop off, no waiting room. I load everything a professional detail requires and do the whole job in your Tujunga driveway while you get on with your day.

The short version

What I Mean by Bringing the Shop

Mobile detailing sometimes gets pictured as a guy with a bucket and a hope. That is not this. I arrive with the same tools a fixed shop uses: machine polisher, steam cleaner, carpet extractor, dedicated brushes and towels for every surface, and the right products for paint, glass, leather, and trim. The only thing missing is the building, and the building never cleaned anybody's car.

For you, the practical difference is time. Tujunga is a drive from everywhere, and hauling a car to a shop down the hill means a morning gone and a favor owed to whoever follows you there to bring you home. In your driveway, the same work happens while you do whatever you were going to do anyway. I work seven days a week, 7:30am to 7:30pm, so the appointment fits your schedule instead of the other way around.

Tujunga Dust Is Its Own Category

Between the canyon winds, the dirt shoulders, and the trailhead lots, Tujunga cars carry a fine grit layer that most towns never see. The danger is not the dust itself, it is dry wiping it. Dragging a towel or a sleeve across a dusty panel grinds that grit into the clear coat and leaves the fine scratches that make paint look tired years before its time. If you take one habit from this post, take that one: never wipe dry dust.

My wash process is built around lifting grit off the paint rather than pushing it around: a thorough pre rinse or the correct waterless technique, clean mitts that never touch the ground, and separate materials for wheels, paint, and glass. Inside, dust that has worked into vents, seat fabric, and carpet comes out with vacuum, brushes, and extraction rather than getting redistributed. It is not complicated. It is just discipline, applied every single time.

Fire Season Ash, Handled Correctly

When there is smoke in the basin, ash settles on everything in Tujunga, and it is worse for paint than it looks. Ash is abrasive, and when it gets damp, from marine layer or a quick rinse that does not flush it away completely, it can react on the surface and leave marks. The wrong move is exactly the instinctive one: wiping it off with a dry cloth or running the wipers across a coated windshield.

The right move is a gentle, thorough flush before any contact, then a proper wash, then protection. A good coat of wax or sealant beforehand makes every part of that easier, because the ash sits on the sacrificial layer instead of the paint itself. If your car sat through ash fall and you are not sure what is safe to do, send me a message before you scrub anything. That advice is free.

Sun Damage: Headlights, Trim, and Paint

Tujunga gets sun with very little mercy, and the plastics show it first. Headlight lenses haze over and turn yellow, which ruins the look of the car and, more importantly, your visibility on unlit canyon roads at night. I restore headlights starting at $50, right in your driveway, and it is consistently the fix people tell me they should have done a year earlier.

Black trim fades to chalky gray on the same schedule, and unprotected paint slowly loses its depth. Trim restoration brings the plastic back, machine polishing recovers dulled paint, and a sealant slows the whole cycle down. None of this requires a garage queen to be worth doing. A daily driver that looks after itself holds value better and is simply nicer to walk up to every morning.

Packages and Plain Prices

The Interior Only Detail starts at $149: vacuuming, upholstery cleaning, carpet shampoo and extraction, steam cleaning, and leather cleaning and conditioning where applicable. The Standard Interior/Exterior Detail starts at $189 and adds the full exterior with wax. The Standard Interior/Exterior Detail runs priced by vehicle size, with the clay bar and sealant work included. Exterior only and eco waterless details are quoted per vehicle.

On top of the packages I handle the deep stuff: engine detailing, pet hair removal after a muddy morning up a fire road, smoke and mildew odor removal, water spot removal, and light scratch and scuff correction. Tell me what is going on with the car when you book and I will tell you exactly what it needs and what it will cost before I start anything. Booking From Tujunga

I cover Tujunga, La Crescenta, Montrose, La Canada Flintridge, Verdugo City, and the nearby Glendale foothills, and I am on the road seven days a week. Home driveways are the usual, and you can arrange to bring the car to my shop instead. Call or text (818) 797-5396 with your vehicle and a description of its condition, and I will give you a price, a time, and an honest opinion on what is worth doing.

One tip that helps both of us: when you book, mention anything unusual, like a steep or shared driveway, a gate code, or a car that has been parked under a tree for a season. Five seconds of context means I arrive with the right plan and the right amount of time blocked out, and your day stays on schedule. That is really all mobile detailing asks of you.

Questions I hear about this

Does ash really damage paint if I leave it?
It can. Ash is abrasive, and when it gets damp it can react on the paint surface and leave marks that need polishing to remove. The bigger everyday risk is dry wiping it, which grinds it into the clear coat. Rinse gently, avoid dry contact, and keep a coat of wax or sealant on the car through fire season.
Do you need water or electricity at my house?
Yes: I connect to your outside spigot and a standard outlet, and I bring a 100 foot hose and cord, which covers almost every Tujunga driveway. No outdoor water at your place? Bring the car to my shop and I will do the identical job there.
How long does a full detail with add ons take?
Usually three to five hours depending on the size of the vehicle and its condition. A sedan in decent shape sits at the low end, a three row full of trail dust and dog hair sits at the high end. I give you a realistic estimate when we book, and you only need to be around at the start and finish.
Can you remove embedded dog hair from carpet and cargo areas?
Yes. Embedded hair does not come out with a regular vacuum, which is why it survives every car wash you have tried. I use dedicated tools and take the time to actually pull it out of the fibers. Tell me about the hair when you book so I can plan enough time for it.
