Detailing prices confuse people because most shops hide them. Here is exactly how I price, why your vehicle size sets the base number, and why you always know the total before I touch the car.
A detail is priced in hours, and hours come from surface area. A sedan has four doors, two rows, and a modest glass area. A three row SUV has more carpet, more seams, more seats to extract, more trim to dress, and considerably more paint to wash, decontaminate, and protect. Charging both the same number would mean either overcharging the sedan or rushing the SUV, and I will not do either.
So my pricing follows the vehicle. It is not a penalty for driving something bigger; it is the honest reflection of the time your car actually takes to do properly.
The Interior Only Detail is $149 for a sedan, $169 for a mini SUV, $189 for a full size SUV, and $219 for a mini-van. It covers the cabin end to end: vacuum, deep cleaning of every hard surface, upholstery and carpet work, glass, and protection on the plastics.
The Standard Interior/Exterior Detail is $189 for a sedan, $209 for a mini-SUV, $229 for an SUV or truck, and $279 for a mini-van. That is the full multi point interior plus the complete exterior: hand wash, wheels and tires, decontamination pre-treatment, and protection.
One honest note about three row vehicles: if all three rows have been carrying kids or pets, the work is closer to a mini-van than an SUV, and I will tell you that up front rather than discover it in your driveway.
Beyond the packages, the specific problems are priced individually: clay bar decontamination at $60, leather seat cleaning at $80 per row, leather conditioning at $25 per row, engine detailing from $50, hard water spot removal from $35, machine polishing at $120 an hour, and ozone odor removal at $150 at my shop.

Where you live inside my service area does not change your price. La Crescenta, La Canada Flintridge, Montrose, Tujunga, Verdugo City, and the nearby Glendale foothills all pay the same for the same vehicle and the same work.
Neither does how dirty the car is, within reason. A normal season of foothill dust, pollen, and school runs is what a detail is for.
