So yes: when I detail at your home, I connect a hose to your outside spigot and plug a cord into a standard outlet. There is no hidden tank in the van and no generator rumbling in your driveway, and I would rather tell you that plainly than let a vague website imply otherwise.
What makes it painless is reach. I carry a 100 foot hose and a 100 foot extension cord, which covers nearly every driveway, carport, and curbside in La Crescenta, La Canada Flintridge, Montrose, Tujunga,. Your spigot can be in the backyard and your outlet in the garage, and the math still works. The water and power a detail uses cost a homeowner well under a dollar.
Generators are loud. The quiet ones still hum, and the cheap ones sound like a lawnmower that never moves. I work in residential neighborhoods, often for hours at a time, and your neighbors did not sign up for that soundtrack. Running off your outlet keeps the job quiet enough that most neighbors only notice the finished car.

If the answer is that there is no outdoor water at all, common in apartments and some condos, we go a different way: you can bring the car to my shop and get the identical detail there. I share the shop address when we book. For lighter exterior upkeep between full details, I also offer an eco waterless option that needs no hookup at all.
Nothing about this should cost you a thought. Driveway in the valley, spigot somewhere on the property, outlet within a hundred feet: that describes almost every house I have ever worked at here. You hand me the key, I handle the rest, and the only evidence I was there is the car.
